Balderton C.C.

 Welcome to Balderton Cricket Club

With four weekend teams and one mid-week team Balderton Cricket Club offers a level of cricket to suit all cricketing abilities The Saturday first team comes up against overseas professionals most weekends whilst the Sunday seconds promotes more of a development basis for the young players entering men’s cricket. The club welcomes players of all ages with all its teams boasting a good balance of youth and experience.
Balderton Cricket Club is well known for its strong youth section with many of the current first 11 learning their trade there. Both soft and hard ball cricket is available from ECB qualified coaches.
Our most famous cricketing member is Paul Johnson. Paul came through the youth section and went on to represent his country. He is now a valuable member of the Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club coaching staff.
Over the past 10 seasons Balderton Cricket Club has had an overseas player to help strengthen the club. This year, Sri Lankan batsman Akshu Fernando joins us to help strengthen the batting line up, replacing bowler Marlon Franklyn, who was with the club for 2 years. All previous overseas players have been from Sri Lanka due to links at the club. These players are; Malinda Warnapura (previously opening the batting in Sri Lanka's test squad), Indika Gallage (former Sri Lankan test player), and Ishan Ratnayake (verge of Sri Lanka A squad).
Balderton Cricket Club is a very family friendly club which boasts a very lively social calendar. Up and coming events will be posted on the events page and everyone is welcome to pop in for a drink with the bar being open after games and aslo on a Friday night.
We hope you find the site useful and if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to leave a message on our guestbook.
